Solo Exhibition「AM I THERE ?」

This exhibition features all-new works from the “Index Finger Painting” series—created using an original model of an enlarged index finger on a support modeled after devices such as smartphones—and the “Mirroring” series, which employs mirror-finish painting.

How do we perceive the “whole” of our field of vision as it flows across screens cropped to aspect ratios used in digital devices, such as 16:9 or 4:3?

Drawing from our online activities—which have become an integral part of our infrastructure—I strive to sublimate into my work the subtle anxieties, introspection, questions, the blurring of boundaries between self and others, the tenuousness of reality, and ambivalence that we feel every day—those slight discomforts and unease.
